Customizer Not Showing on Product Page

Symptoms: You’ve created options for a product, but nothing appears on the storefront. Solutions:
  1. Enable the app embed. Go to your Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds → Toggle Podifai on → Save.
  2. Check product assignment. In the Podifai dashboard, verify the option set is assigned to the correct product.
  3. Clear your browser cache. Hard refresh with Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac).
  4. Check if another options app is active. Disable other product customizer or options apps that may conflict.

Additional Price Not Showing in Cart or Checkout

Symptoms: The price add-on shows on the product page but reverts in the cart or at checkout. Solutions:
  1. Verify Shopify Functions permission. Podifai uses Shopify Functions for checkout pricing. Make sure you approved this permission during installation. If unsure, uninstall and reinstall the app.
  2. Check for discount app conflicts. Some discount apps may override Podifai’s price adjustments. Test by temporarily disabling other discount apps.
  3. Confirm the option has a price set. In the Podifai editor, click the option value and verify the additional price field is filled in.

Live Preview Images Not Displaying

Symptoms: The preview area is blank or shows broken images. Solutions:
  1. Check image format. Use PNG with transparent background for option layers. JPG is fine for the base product image.
  2. Check file size. Keep each image under 2MB.
  3. Verify image upload completed. In the editor, check that each option value has an image assigned (look for the thumbnail).
  4. Browser compatibility. Live Preview works best in modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). Clear cache and try again.

Customer Image Upload Failing

Symptoms: Customers see an error when trying to upload their image. Solutions:
  1. File size limit. Customer uploads must be under 10MB.
  2. Supported formats. JPG, PNG, and WebP are supported. Other formats (GIF, TIFF, BMP) will be rejected.
  3. Browser issues. Ask the customer to try a different browser or clear their cache.

Conditional Logic Not Triggering

Symptoms: Options that should appear/hide based on selections are not responding. Solutions:
  1. Check rule order. The trigger option must appear before the dependent option in your option set.
  2. Verify condition values. Open the condition rule and confirm the trigger value matches exactly (case-sensitive).
  3. Test with a clean browser. Extensions or cached state can interfere. Try in incognito mode.
  4. Save and refresh. After editing conditions, save the customizer and do a hard refresh on the product page.

Options Not Appearing in Order Details

Symptoms: The order shows in Shopify admin but without customization details. Solutions:
  1. Check the Podifai Orders page. Custom options always appear in the Podifai dashboard under Orders, even if they’re missing from Shopify admin.
  2. Verify the order was placed through the customizer. If a customer bypasses the customizer (e.g., quick buy button), options won’t be captured.
  3. Check your order notification templates. Custom option data is added to line item properties. Your email templates may need to include {{ line.properties }} to display them.

Theme Compatibility Issues

Symptoms: Layout breaks, options overlap with other elements, or styling looks off. Solutions:
  1. Online Store 2.0 themes work best with Podifai. Older “vintage” themes may need manual adjustments.
  2. Try the app embed placement. In Theme Customize → App embeds, ensure Podifai is positioned correctly.
  3. Use Custom CSS. Add CSS overrides to fix spacing or styling — see the Custom CSS guide.

Slow Loading on Product Page

Symptoms: The product page takes noticeably longer to load after adding Podifai. Solutions:
  1. Optimize images. Large option images slow down the page. Keep each under 500KB ideally, 2MB maximum.
  2. Reduce option count. If you have 20+ options on one product, consider using conditional logic to load them progressively.
  3. Check other apps. Use your browser’s Network tab to identify if the slowdown is from Podifai or another app.
